Worldwide, buildings have been presented as one of the main energy consumers and, for that matter, there is an increased tendency to invest in policies and measures promote more efficient buildings. Among chosen strategies, need use passive solutions retrofit existing building stock often pointed out. Portuguese has proven be obsolete terms thermal comfort, which can directly affect demand climatization purposes. Considering great solar availability country, when compared other European locations, with technologies a suitable solution. This paper aims review studies on application façades Mediterranean climate context, special focus Portugal. Four were reviewed, namely glazing, sun shading, sunspaces Trombe wall technologies.
